On the second weekend of January 2018, PROJECT-E’s Team Europe came together for our traditional bi-annual Strategy Weekend. This time, we met in the winterly and windy harbour city Hamburg to evaluate, plan, and discuss PROJECT-E’s previous work in 2017 and forthcoming plans for 2018 – and of course to catch up with old and new members of Team Europe.
For the PROJECT-E team in Europe, October was strongly marked by the fundraising competition “1000€ für 1000 Vereine“ organised by ING-DiBa bank. The competition aims at supporting NGOs and charity organisations: During a six-week long time period, people can vote via a secure one-person-one-vote principle for the different participating organisations on the Ing-DiBa website. Those organisations ranking among the 200 organisations with most votes in their size category win 1000 Euro.
On the first weekend in September PROJECT-E’s Team Europe came together for the meanwhile traditional bi-annual Strategy Weekend. This time the city of Heidelberg, Germany gave us a warm welcome and the basis for a couple of days of planning, evaluating, looking back and looking forward and – having fun meeting old and new friends!
The Hamburger Initiative für Menschenrechte (HIM) honours innovative projects, this year under the slogan Project in Africa – Alternatives to Migration. We are proud to announce that PROJECT-E has been awarded as one of two African projects in the ceremony on April 4 2017 in Hamburg, Germany.
After Germany and Austria, Switzerland just became the third country, in which PROJECT-E is registered as an association.
Our students got to visit the Castel Winery in Ziway in January to learn about growing of grapes and wine making. They were accompanied by our volunteer Iga, who captured the trip in photographs and words.
On the first weekend of the year, the PROJECT-E team came together in Vienna, Austria to kick off the year by evaluating ongoing work, making new plans and meeting old and new team members and friends.
