We are proud to announce that our first year of students at the PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute have successfully graduated in Level 1 and 2 Hotel Operations. The first ever graduation ceremony for our Institute was held on the 1st of July 2017 on our premises. All family, friends of the sixteen graduating students as well as our advisory board, hotel representatives, all PROJECT-E staff, current and previous volunteers and partners alike attended the event. The ceremony was framed by presentations of our Country Representative, our Social Worker, the Academic Coordinator, with our Project Manager being the MC. Our Level 1 students who successfully completed their first year COC Exams were serving and welcoming the graduates and the guests and also presented a poetry performance. We congratulate our best three students: Abebech Wagaye on third, Selamawit Megersa on second and Emebet Tenaw on first place! All of them received a scholarship for studying Level 3 of Hotel Operations.
As PROJECT-E is focused on sustainable education, we have a close follow-up approach towards our graduates, meaning that we will keep in touch and stay updated about their future education and career paths. So far, five students have already gotten jobs and two are going to study marketing at university level – all the others have high hopes in getting employed within the next couple of months because the hotel and hospitality industry in Addis Ababa is continuously booming and our highly-qualified students fit right into an employee gap.
We wish our first year of graduates all the best for the future and hope they keep good memories of their two years at the Hospitality Institute.
