On the first weekend of the year, the PROJECT-E team came together in Vienna, Austria to kick off the year by evaluating ongoing work, making new plans and meeting old and new team members and friends.
Vienna received us with a strong and freezing wind but also with a warming and tasty Ethiopian dinner on Friday evening. So we started with delicious Injera and Bayaynatu into a weekend that would be filled with introducing new people to the team, questioning and discussing work sequences in Addis and in Europe and outlining the project’s future. Not only were there various new faces starting their volunteer positions in team Europe but also Sena, the new country representative, got introduced to team Europe. She started working in Addis in mid-January and will keep the communication between team Europe and team Ethiopia running smoothly.
Another highlight of the strategy weekend was Saturday’s charity party at SNEAK IN. PROJECT-E got supported by the two local DJs Knez&Lazar and by the photographer Fabian Held (Wiener Reis). He traveled through Ethiopia making amazing pictures and contributing part of his revenues from that exhibition to PROJECT-E.
Finally on Sunday the concrete tasks of the next few months got discussed, specified, and fixed by deadlines. We are looking forward to keeping up the good work, to improving steadily on effectiveness and communication and to staying creative considering innovations and future adaptions.
