Meet Achamyelesh at today’s Team Thursday!
What is your background?
My birth place and home town is Addis Ababa, where I was educated from primary to higher education. I now have a BA in History, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Management, and I have a family and two daughters.
In my professional career, I was a high school teacher for twelve years, before becoming a trainer and team leader in the Federal Ethics and anti-Corruption Commission of Ethiopia. Just before joining PROJECT-E, I was Director of Women, Children and Youth Directorate of FEACC. I have more than 20 years work experience.
What is your involvement with PROJECT-E?
I joined PROJECT-E’s Hospitality Institute as Project Manager in June 2020. The vision and mission of the Institute matches my long existing desire to get involved with development work. I am confident that my work experience will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to PROJECT-E’s mission. I am ready to work beyond the call of duty to help promote the empowerment of vulnerable women and the reputation of the Institution.
What are you passionate about?
My passion is reflected in my work experience. I was teaching in the best known Girls High School in Addis Ababa and, as an Ethics trainer, I worked on special training courses tailored for female participants. Thus, my passion is working for the empowerment of women, especially those with limited opportunities.
