What is your background?
I was born in Hanover and I am now living in southern Germany near Heidelberg. My father was born and raised in Morocco and my mother in Poland, which is why I have a multicultural background. After school, I completed my bachelor’s degree in linguistics with a focus on intercultural communication and a minor in sociology, and I´ve been working in corporate communications for a software company since 2019.
What is your involvement with PROJECT-E?
I have been part of the Public Relations Department of PROJECT-E since April 2021 as a Content Creator, so I will mostly take care of writing for the blog and website as well as the PROJECT-E newsletter.
What are you passionate about?
More and more attention is being paid to diversity & inclusion in the corporate world. Teams consisting of members from different backgrounds are more common, and women are being promoted to leadership positions more often. However, in developing countries such as Ethiopia, gender equality is a luxury, and women’s rights (especially in terms of education) still differ greatly from those of men. I have a passion for justice and equal opportunities, and would like to support and do my part wherever there is work to be done. PROJECT-E allows me to do just that.
In addition to this matter, which is very close to my heart, I am involved in a personal project aimed at breaking the stigma against mental illnesses which unfortunately still exists in our society.
