Team Thursday Part 42 – Meet Mahalet

Photo Mahalet Hailu

안녕 [annyeong]- “Hello” in Korean

My name is Mahalet!

I am 27 years old and from Addis Abeba

What is your background?

I obtained my High school degree in Addis and I went for my Undergraduate Studies to the University in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. There, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management. Afterwards I wanted to continue with my studies and was lucky to receive a scholarship for a Masters program in International Development at Hankuk University in Seoul, Korea.

What is your involvement with PROJECT-E?

I found out about PROJECT-E online and was happy to see that there is an NGO that supports, educates and empowers young women in becoming independent. Before starting my professional career, I wanted to volunteer in order to give back to my society. Since beginning of May I am teaching English for the short term students and Information Technology (IT) for Level 1 and 2 students.

What are you passionate about?

My ultimate goal is to make a difference in other people’s life. Therefore I am grateful that PROJECT-E exists, because it’s exactly what our country needs. It is nice to see that my contribution and support has an impact on these young women.
