Emebet Tenaw joined our Team in Addis Ababa in March 2018 as a trainer assistant. What makes this special is that Emebet actually is a PROJECT-E graduate! As not much time has passed since she went to school herself, Emebet surely got all the empathy needed for her job. We are glad to have her on board (again)! Please, check out her answers to our Team Thursday questions below.
1. What’s your background?
My name is Emebet Tenaw. I was born in East Gojjam and moved to Addis with my aunt at the age of 12. I attended a regular Highschool in Addis and after I graduated, I immediately joined PROJECT-E. Here I participated in the two-year program. After graduating from PROJECT-E I worked as a laundry attendant at the Top Ten Hotel in Addis Ababa. I also worked as a salesperson for DSTV (Ethiopian TV channel).
2. What’s your involvement with PROJECT-E?
I returned to the PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute this year in March to work as a trainer assistant. My tasks and responsibilities include supervising and tutoring students. I also teach them some skills for hotel operation and take care of the library as well as administrative tasks.
3. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about women empowerment because I have been empowered and I have gotten the opportunity to enable the other students an unforgettable stay at PROJECT-E just as I experienced it. Also, I would like to contribute to the development and change of my country.
