Meet Shannon at today’s Team Thursday!
What is your background?
I’m a non-profit professional with an educational background in international development, gender studies, and French. I’ve worked in organizations supporting human rights and equal access to education in the US, France, and the UK.
What is your involvement with PROJECT-E?
I am part of the Talent Management department at PROJECT-E. We are currently working on providing better resources for volunteer on-boarding and professional development, as well as updates to the website to refresh the organization’s branding from a recruitment standpoint and make the user experience cleaner and more streamlined.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about issues pertaining to gender and labor, including women’s economic independence and workforce participation. My Master’s degree research was focused on the gendered division of labor under capitalism and the inequity stemming from the devaluation of labor done at home. I believe that women’s access to job markets and their independent financial stability is essential to creating a society in which people of all genders hold equal influence. I am also passionate about continuous learning and am an avid reader and podcast follower.
